The newly posted Area Commander, Ikirun Command, ASP Yusuf Asape has charged residents of the community to be law abiding and engage in lawful businesses.
According to a release signed by the Head of Department, Social Development and Information, Bukola Elufadejin, Mr Asape made this remark while paying a familiarisation visit to the council secretariat.
Describing the lives and property of the people as paramount, he said he had toured almost 21 countries across the continent in the world and he believed in security and a safe society.
He frowned at the unholy attitudes of some transporters and Okada riders in the community, just as he promised to nip the situation in the bud.
The police boss appealed to residents to be fair and just in enforcing law and order in the entire senatorial district.
While reacting, the council boss, Alhaji Hammed Omoloye, solicited the support of the police force towards the improvement of the council’s Internally Generated Revenue especially at Alamisi Market.
He said the provision of security for the revenue workers of the council would guarantee their safety and translate to economic development.
The Council Manager, Alhaja Salam Mojisola pleaded with the area commander to be up and doing towards checking the activities of herdsmen in the council, lamenting the alarming rate of national insecurity triggered by the herdsmen in the nation.
