Confusion in Osun PDP Over Supreme Court Verdict

There was  fresh confusion in the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party sequel to the Supreme Court judgement won by the Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s faction on Wednesday.

The Chairman of the Makarfi faction of Osun PDP, Dr Bayo Faforiji said victory of Makarfi means that he is the authentic Chairman of the party in Osun while the Chairman of the Alimodu Sheriff faction, Mr Soji Adagunodo also insisted that he is the authentic chairman of the party in the state.

Faforiji said the victory of Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee at the Supreme Court has finally put an end to the leadership tussle between the factions of the PDP in Osun State.

Adagunodo also said he remains the authentic chairman of the PDP in Osun because the Independent National Electoral Commission supervised the congress that produced his executive team.

The fresh crisis if not manage may snowball into a major crisis within the party in the state.

It would be recalled that the two faction signed agreement during the recent senatorial election in the state to work and accept the verdict of the supreme court, an accord many have described as temporary marriage of force which is bound to fail.
