Controversy As Tenant Allegedly Impregnates Pastor’s Daughter In Lagos
A pastor from a modern church in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos State on Wednesday narrated how his tenant allegedly impregnated his daughter.
The Pastor narrated this during the proceedings at the Ikeja Sexual Offence and Domestic Violence Court.
According to the pastor, the accused, simply identified as Godwin, began sexually abusing his 16-year-old daughter in April 2021 and continued to do so until June 2023, resulting in her pregnancy.
To compound the gravity of the situation, the accused’s wife, who happens to be a nurse, allegedly administered contraceptive pills to the young girl in an attempt to conceal her husband’s heinous actions.
The pastor, who had known the accused for several years, shared that his daughter unequivocally identified him as the perpetrator responsible for her pregnancy and disclosed that the abuse had been ongoing since 2021.
“I reported the case at Area K Police Command in Badagry, where my daughter confirmed that he had been sleeping with her for a long time.
“My daughter kept the pregnancy and gave birth to a female child,” the pastor gave this account while being cross-examined by the defence counsel, Victor Edet.
“I was convinced that it was the defendant who impregnated my daughter, and thereafter Godwin Emmanuel’s wife, a nurse, gave drugs to her to abort the pregnancy,” the complainant narrated.
He said, however, that he later reported the case at the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency and at a medical centre when the police did nothing about his complaint.
However, the presiding Judge, Justice Abiola Soladoye, scheduled the continuation of the hearing for December 11.
