The Ilesa West Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has conferred a leadership merit award on Barrister Femi Onigbogi, the Executive Secretary of the local government in honour of his good works.
Receiving the award last week from Reverend Awoyemi, the Ilesa West CAN Chairman, Onigbogi dedicated it to God.
While stressing that the award will draw him closer to God and strengthen his service to humanity, the council boss revealed that, “it was God that aided me in my service to my people and it is Him that has made it marvelous in His sight by virtue of this award today”.
Onigbogi also used the opportunity to call on all CAN members in the council to continue to enlighten their members on the work of the state government in developing the state.
“I want you to enlighten people especially Christians about what is going on in the state in terms of development that can be seen everywhere.
“Tell them the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is doing a good job in governance and make them understand that the challenges we are facing is as a result of the economic situation in the country which is a global phenomenon”.
In his response, the Ilesa West CAN Chairman commended the Executive Secretary for his contributions towards their welfare and sought his assistance in moving the body forward in future endeavours.
