The Executive Secretary, Olorunda North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Honourable Abdul-Quadri Owonikoko has inaugurated additional members of caretaker committees in the council, with a charge that they should be steadfast, persevere, dutiful and responsive in the discharge of their duties.
According to a statement by the Information Officer of the council, Oloruntoyin Adejobi, the inaugurated committee members were; Mrs Adefunke Adebisi as Secretary for Women and Children Affairs and Abiona Wasiu as Secretary for Youth, Market and Sanitation. Addressing the gathering at the event, Owonikoko appealed to the newly appointed Secretaries to see the position as a challenge and call to duty, urging that they should not take their followers for granted, but rather see the position as a way of extending dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
He said the appointment was a reward for diligence and service to humanity that the appointees have demonstrated as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In his remark, the APC Chairman in the council, Alhaji Ahmed Bolarinwa appealed to the new appointees to be more loyal and not divulge the strategy of the party to outsiders. Noting that the two appointments made were very important and critical to the development of the council, he urged them to see to the cleanliness of the council as part of their duties.
Also, the Chairman, Community Development, Olorunda North LCDA, Alhaji Muftau Oladapo implored the appointees to attend party meetings regularly, as there would be a meeting with the council executive to deliberate on their modules Operandi and set agenda for them. The Supervisory Councillor for Social Development and Information, Shade Adebimpe enjoined the new appointees to cooperate with the Executive Secretary, whom she described as a good and hardworking leader.
