Council Boss Solicits Residents’ Supports

The newly inaugurated chairman of Olorunda North Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), of the State of Osun, Hon. Quadri Owonikoko has solicited the support and co-operation of the residents in running the affairs of the LCDA.

He made the call after his inauguration as the council chairman, calling on the residents to be prepared to make sacrifice for the development of the council.

Owonikoko attributed the modest achievements he made in the construction of the new secretariat complex as the head of the caretaker management committee of the council prior to his election to the sacrifice his team and the career officers in the LCDA made.

The LCDA helmsman expressed his profound appreciation to the Baale Ota-Efun, Chief Shehu Tijani Babatunde who provided land to the LCDA free of charge.

Owonikoko thanked the governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the opportunity given to him and other members of the team to serve the people.

He therefore tasked the electorate to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in September to ensure continuity in progress and development in the LCDA, the state capital and the state in general.

The new executive chairman, said he embarked on massive grading of roads as the Executive Secretary, which he said was highly appreciated by the residents because some of the areas had never witnessed any grading of sort.

The House Leader, Omidiran Mumini was the first to take his oath of office and allegiance, followed by the Chairman, Owonikoko and others.

Besides the leader and the chairman, other leaders elected amongst themselves were vice-chairman, Ajisebiyawo Musbau; Deputy Leader, Mrs. Sakirat Adeoye. Others are Mrs. Babatunde Rachael, Mr. Olalekan Lawal, Mr. Olawale Akinjide and Mr. Olayiwola Ismail.

Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Ataoja of Osogbo represented by the Ajagunna, Chief Gabriel Oparinde; the Oloba of Oba Oke, Oba Adams Bamidele Yusuf; Baale of Ota-Efun, Chief Shehu Tijani and Baale of Alare, Chief Muili Folorunsho.

Religious leaders like the Chief Imam of Ota–Efun, Alhaji Bello Alamaliyekeen and Christian Clerics were also there.

Party leaders were not left out. Alhaji Muftau Oladapo, Yisa Ojewale and others too were in attendance.

There was an impressive turn out of people which include family friends and well-wishers of the council officials.
