Chairman, Atakunmosa West Central Local Council Development Area, lfewara, Hon. Anthony Adedeji Adeboye has charged the staffers of the council area to make hardwork, dedication and loyalty their watchword in the discharge of their duties.
Adeboye gave this charge in his new year message to workers at a new year prayer meeting organised by the council area to seek God ‘s face before the commencement of year 2019 activities.
At the forum, praises were rendered to God in acknowledgement of His love and mercies in the past year and during Christmas and new year celebrations and fervent prayers were offered unto the Lord for a peaceful and progressive year, peaceful and orderly conduct of this year’s general elections and the repositioning of the country’s ailing economy.
The council helmsman reminded the council workers that they owe it a statutory duty to generate revenue for the local council, warning that laxity and insubordination on the part of any worker in this regard would not be tolerated.
He made them to understand that their work as local council workers is to serve God and humanity and this he said must be done diligently and conscientiously, adding that God would reward each and everyone of them appropriately.
The Council boss assured the council’s workforce based on the assurances of Governor Gboyega Oyetola that things would turn around for better this year in terms of workers’ welfare, but hinted that revenue generation is of paramount importance to Mr. Governor who has consistently admonished workers to handle the assignment with all seriousness with a view to boosting the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state to augument monthly allocation from the federation account.
This is with a view to meeting up with mounting expenses of governance to make life more worth living for the citizenry of the state.
Also speaking at the forum, the Council Manager, Mr. Taiwo Abegunde who wished all staffers and political functionaries a blissful year enjoined the workers to always promptly and punctually report for work and conscientiously discharge their responsibilities.
