The immediate past Caretaker Management Committee of Ilesa East Local Government Council Area of the State of Osun, led by Mrs. Olusola Adeoye has last week distributed baby kits to expectant mothers in the council area.
A statement by the Information Officer of the council, Opatunji Kazeem said the gesture was sequel to the observation of the council executive that pregnancy care consist of parental and post-parental health care for expectant mothers.
While distributing the kits at the council secretariat in Iyemogun Road, Ilesa, Adeoye said that the distribution of the items was part of the efforts to complement Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s commitment to functional health care for the people across the state. She added that the mama kits package contains important materials needed by the pregnant women at the point of delivery.
Urging mothers to visit government health facilities closer to them for qualitative health care service, she charged the beneficiaries of the gesture to make good use of the kits.
While appreciating the kind gesture on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs. Iyiola Bolajoko expressed gratitude to the caretaker management team for including pregnant mothers in the scheme of things.
Other activities at the events include free medical checkup and medical counsel for the expectant mothers.
