Countries Celebrating Eid El-Fitr 2024 Today, Tuesday

Authorities in Niger Republic, Mali and Afghanistan have announced the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, declaring that Eid el-Fitr in the countries will be observed on Tuesday.

Eid el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

In the Niger Republic, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the new moon in five different states across the country.

In addition to Niger, Afghanistanโ€™s Supreme Court also announced Tuesday as the first day of Shawaal, marking the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid-al-Fitr.

The court said 27 people in several provinces saw the crescent moon.

Meanwhile, Maliโ€™s Ministry of Religious Affairs also announced Tuesday as Eid-al-Fitr in the West African country, citing the deliberation of the National Moon Observation Commission.
