Court Dismisses Kano Kingmakers Suit Against Newly Installed Emirs

A High Court sitting in Kano on Friday dismissed an application instituted by the Kano Emirate Kingmakers against the newly installed Emirs in the state.

The Court, thus, recognised the recently created four Emirates by the Kano State Government.

The presiding Judge, Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badaamosi, overruled the application filed by the Plaintiff’s Counsel, Barrister Suraj Saida (SAN).

Badamosi said the new Emirs are at liberty to continue going about their lawful activities as Emirs of their Emirate.

It should be recalled that the Emirate Council, earlier filed an application, seeking the court to restrain the Kano State Government against balkanizing the Emirate Council.
