Osun State police command has arraigned a 43-year-old man, Tunde Adebayo before a magistrate court sitting in Osogbo over alleged stealing.
Tunde was docked on a two-count charge bothering on false pretence and stealing.
The prosecutor Inspector Jafani Muslim said the suspect committed the offence on April 10, 2018 at Salem Abass, Ogo oluwa area, Osogbo.
According to Jafani, the defendant obtained the sum of N270,000 from his victim under false pretence.
He also explained further that the accused person stole the sum of N270,000 belongings to one Yusuf Taofeek.
The prosecutor said the accused person committed the offence contrary to and punishable under Section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the count charge preferred against him.
The defence counsel, Mr Okobe Najite prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs Oloyade granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum. She said the sureties must be residents within the court jurisdiction and swear to affidavit of means.
The accused person should equally submit his three passport photographs to the court, adding that if the accused person is unable to perfect his bail applications, he should be remanded in Ilesha prison custody.
The case was adjourned to June 11, 2018.
