A 50-year-old man, Abidoye Adegoke has been remanded in Ilesa Correctional Facility for allegedly defrauding a land buyer of the sum of N990, 000.
Adegoke was accused of obtaining the money from Adamo Adegoke on the pretence of selling a three-plot parcel of land to him.
The charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday stated that the accused person committed the offence at Okinni.
But the suspect entered a not-guilty plea to the allegation.
The alleged offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol II, Law of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
Defence counsel, Okobe Nagite prayed the court to grant bail to the accused person.
However, Magistrate Olubunmi Ajanaku turned down the bail application and ordered that the suspect be remanded at Ilesa Correctional Facility.
The case was adjourned till March 11, 2020 for hearing.
