An Osun State magistrate court sitting in Ile Ife, on Thursday, remanded a 26-year-old man, Tobiloba Adedayo in Kosere prison for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Oyantunyi told the court that the accused committed the offence on September 15 at Mayfair area in Ile Ife.
He said the accused consider with others at large to commit felony.
He added that the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent.
He argued that the offence contravened section 360 and 516 of the criminal code, laws of Osun, 2002.
When the two count charge was read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Ibrahim Lawal, applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal term, adding that the accused would not jump bail.
While presiding over the judgement, Magistrate Ijiyode Olamilekan did not grant the bail of the accused but ordered the remand of the accused in Kosere prison.
He however adjourned the case to October 30, 2018 for mentioning.
