A Jigawa State magistrate court sitting in Dutse on Friday ordered the remand of a protester for two weeks in person.

Magistrate Auwalu Sani ordered Umar Danjani, suspected of leading violent protests in Jigawa State to be remanded in Birnin Kudu Prison for two weeks.

Recall that the peaceful protest in the state turned violent, resulting in the death of two persons, with many injured and buildings set ablaze while properties worth millions of Naira were looted across the state.
