Court Remands Serial Car Brain Box, Stereo Thieves

Two suspects, Oluwole Felix and Taiye Ajeni, who specialised in breaking into cars to steal brain boxes, car stereos, and other vehicle accessories have been remanded by a magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The suspects who hail from Ondo State, were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery contrary to Section 6B and 1 (2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act.

The duo were arrested by the community police group of Kulende area while trying to break into a Toyota Camry with Reg. No. AGB-189-LM, according to the charge sheet.

Prosecutor, Abdulahi Sanni, told the court that, “Investigation led to the recovery of the vehicle and valuable items such as vehicle brain boxes and car stereos among other things were found.

“But the third suspect later known as Eze escaped. The duo voluntarily confessed to the alleged crime and it was also discovered that they were the actual culprits, terrorising Ilorin and its environs.”

He urged the court to reject his bail, a position that was opposed by the defence counsel, Barrister Toyin Onaolapo.

In his ruling, magistrate Shittu ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned the case to Tuesday.
