Court Remands Students Who Allegedly Murdered, Gouged Out Teacher’s Eyes
A Magistrate’s Court in Noman’s Land, Kano has remanded several suspects to a reform facility over charges of conspiracy and murder.
The suspects were accused of killing a teacher. They were alleged to have gouged out the victim’s eyes, and other parts were mutilated after they murdered him.
According to the police charge sheet, the incident occurred in Center Abuja village, located in the Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
The prosecution alleges that on April 22, the suspects colluded, abducted the victim (a teacher), and then orchestrated a gruesome execution — including removing his eyes and other body parts.
It is further alleged that they raised ₦800,000 to hire youths to carry out the murder.
Barrister Salma Garba, the prosecuting counsel, requested an adjournment.
Magistrate Hauwa Abdulkadir adjourned the trial to November 13 for further submissions and defense arguments.
