For allegedly being a cult member, a 22-year-old man, Adeyeye Afeez has been remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate Court.
The charge sheet stated that the suspect and others at large confessed to being a member of unlawful society which is contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria
According to the charge sheet, the suspect engaged himself in an unlawful society known as EYE confraternity secret cult contrary to Section 64(a) (b) of Criminal Code Cap 34 vol.11 laws of osun state of Nigeria
It added that the suspect was caught on October 19, 2019 at about 5pm in Osogbo.
Defence counsel, Barr. Adegbola urged the court to be gentle on the suspect being a first time offender.
The Presiding Magistrate Mr. O.A Ayilara therefore remanded the suspect in Ilesa prison custody.
He later adjourned the case till July 31, 2019 for hearing.
