Court Remands Three Suspects Over N1million Theft

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo has remanded two men and a woman in prison custody over alleged stealing of N1,150,000.

They are, Azeez Abdulsamad, 23, Nusirudeen Aranse, 25, Salako Medinat, 23, and they are facing three count charges bothering on stealing and fraud.

The Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Fagboyinbo Abiodun disclosed that two of the suspect and others at large fraudulently obtained a sum of N1,150,000 from one Azeez Abdulsamad with the pretence that they will provide some charms for him to be rich knowing fully to be false.

Furthermore, he stressed that the accused persons did conspire together to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 8 (1) (A) of the advance fee fraud laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2002.

Abiodun informed the court that the accused committed the offence on or before August, 28, 2018 at NIPCO filling station, Oshogbo.

He said the accused persons and others at large did steal cash sum of N1,150,000, property of one Afolabi Hammed Kayode.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Awodele Modupe ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison pending the adjournment date.

The case was adjourned to November 23, 2018 for mention.
