Court Remands Two For Robbery In Osun

Osogbo magistrate court, Osun state presided over by Mrs Adenike Olowolagba has remanded two suspected armed robbers for robbery.

 

The two accused, Tiamiu Wasiu and Yusuf Akindele was alleged of robbing Ayegun residents in Ila-Orungun, Osun state of their valuables.

 

The duo were arraigned on five count charge for armed robbery, conspiracy, and felony by Inspector Mustapha Tajudeen.

 

Tajudeen said the accused committed the offense on July 31 at Ayegun area in Ila- Orangun.

 

He said the accused conspired to commit felony to wit: Armed Robbery.

 

According to the charge sheet sighted by our correspondent, “the two accused armed themselves with guns and rob one Abdulraheem Sikiru of one infinix phone valued 87,000 and cash sum of 520,000 total valued 607,000.

 

”Did arm yourselves with guns and Rob one Adebayo Kehinde of one Techno phone valued 26,000 and cash sum of 3,730 total valued 29,730.

 

”Did unlawfully have in your possession one locally made pistol which you could not give satisfactory account.

 

”Did unlawfully have in your possession one live cartridge which you could not give satisfactory account.

 

He explained that the offense committed by the accused is contrary to section 6 (b)  section (1) (2) (b)  section 8 and punishable under section section 1(1) section 27(1) (b)  (ii)  of the firearms (special provision)  Act Cap Rll volume. 14 laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

 

However, the two accused persons having their legal counsel was denied bail and the pleas were not taken.

 

Mrs. Olowolagba in her ruling ordered that they should be remanded in Ilesa prison as case is adjourn to September 19th to be mentioned.
