Court Remands Two Suspects Over Robbery

Two suspects, Adeyemo Kehinde Johnson, 32 and Ayodele Segun Olukunle, 31, have been remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo magistrate court over alleged armed robbery.

The suspects are facing a two-count charge of armed robbery.

Police prosecutor, Elisha Olusegun told the court that the accused persons and others now at large committed the offence on August 10, 2018 at Biket area Osogbo.

Elisha said the defendants armed themselves with dangerous weapons and robbed one Nurudeen Sofiat of the cash sum of N34, 000.

He further stated that the offence committed is contrary to section 6(b), (2)(a)(b) of the robbery and firearms(special provisions) Act Cap Rll vol. 14 laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Plea of the accused persons was not taken due to the magnitude of the offence committed.

Magistrate Fatimoh Sodamade ordered the suspects to be remanded in Ilesha prison custody pending the time their file will be forward to the appropriate court for trial.
