Court Restrains Sunday Bisi From Acting As Osun PDP Chair

A High Court of the State of Osun sitting in Ikirun on Tuesday restrained Hon. Sunday Bisi from acting as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.

The presiding judge, Justice Jide Falola, granted all the seven ex-parte motion of the plaintiff, Soji Adagunodo in the interim till the next hearing date.

Adagunodo represented by his counsel, Edmond Biriomoni had dragged the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon Sunday Bisi, Hon Sunday Akanfe Atidade and Bola Ajao to court on the announcement of the 2nd respondent to lead the party in Osun in Acting capacity.

The court held that Adagunodo should resume duties as the party’s chairman in the state pending the final determination of the motion.

In a statement shortly after the court session, Adagunodo called on all members of the party in the state to come together and move the party forward if they truly have the interest of the party and the people of Osun at heart.

He said “throughout out the imbroglio, I lived by example, deliberately abiding by all the orders from our National Headquarters and at the same time exploring all internal mechanisms in resolving the crisis without rocking the boat.” I followed the rule of Law throughout the crisis period.

According to Adagunodo, “the order of the court today is symbolic and should be seen as the final opportunity for PDP, our great party, to unite and form a formidable opposition party come 2022.

Adagunodo also added “we need to grab that opportunity and work together for the progress of our great party and for the emancipation of our dear state.”

According to the court, hearing on the motions on notice will hold on Monday, 9th November, 2020.
