In the spirit of community service and support, the 13 man relief committee set up by the Igbajo Development Association (IDA) will on Easter Monday distribute various food items to vulnerable people in the town and its ten villages.
The Committee set up barely a week ago succeeded in mobilising Igbajo sons and daughters both at home to raise millions of Naira for this noble assignment.
The first phase of the distribution tomorrow will be carried out on the basis of the five Ogbons in the town namely Iloro, Isao, Oke Oja, Atiba and Oguru. A local Committee of five persons consisting of three men and two women was set up in each Ogbon and they will be supervised by a Central team of three men in each of the Ogbons.
Items to be distributed include Rice, Beans, Semovita, Gari, Elubo, Eggs, Palm Oil, Vegetable Oil, Salt, Sugar, Yam, Fish and Noodles.
To make the distribution easy and in compliance with the observance of social distance regulation, the committee has compiled a list of the ninety five compounds across the town while the ten Baales from the villages have also been instructed to report at their various Ogbons for the exercise.
The distribution was scheduled to coincide with the usual Igbajo Day Celebration weekend which was postponed this year because of the prevailing CoronaVirus pandemic and the government imposed lockdown.
Representatives of the Osun State COVID-19 team and NCDC are also expected to give health talk before the commencement of the distribution.
