COVID-19: Protests Greet Osun Govt’s Palliatives

The distribution of two bags of rice per polling unit which is the palliative programme of the State Government of Osun to cushion the effect of the sit-at-home order on the coronavirus pandemic was greeted with protests as residents of the state rejected the rice.

According to the residents who spoke to OSUN DEFENDER at different polling units in Osogbo, the state capital, the state government’s rice is contaminated and sub standard which is not good for their consumption.

They accused the state government of playing on their intelligence saying that such palliative fell short of their expectation.
