Crisis is brewing in Accord Party, Ife Central branch as over 109 members of the party have decamped to All Progressive Congress (APC ).

Mr Francis Olufemi, the secretary of APC Ife Central branch, disclosed this to our correspondent on Monday.

Investigation revealed that members of the party decamped to APC because the state party chairman, Segun Fanibe is “selling the party to opposition parties.”

The members alleged the state chairman of using the party as a tool for persuading his members to support opposition parties.

Some members who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that the party’s failure at the recent local government election is connected with the sole administration of Fanibe and two other officials of the party in the state.

According to the Party Secretary, Ife Central branch, Hon Adedeji Olayinka, said that, eight out of the existing eleven wards in Ife Central Local Government have pulled out of the Party.

He disclosed that the wards pulled out over the “lackadaisical attitude” of the state chairman.

As at time of filing this report, efforts to speak to the state party chairman were abortive as his number was not reachable.

It was however learnt that he was out of the country.
