Chairman, Board of Osun Community and Social Development Project (Osun CSDP), Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa has disclosed that the government of the state of Osun has through the agency, completed 406 gender-sensitive and social inclusive micro-projects in eight sectors across 331 communities on the state.
He made this known while inaugurating 300KVA transformers for communities in Akinjole community Gbongan, Oke-Alafia community in Owode-Ede, Ibiyemi community in Ede and Jagun community in Ido-Osun respectively.
The agency also commissioned two Motorised Borehole for Apaso Community in Ede, and Apata Aseyori community in Ika-Ejigbo in the state.
Musa said projects completed include; 27 in Education sector, 14 Health, 70 in Water, Electricity 135 and Transport 77, Socio-economic 66, Natural Resources and Environment 9 and Gender & Vulnerable 8.
The projects, according to the Osun CSDP is in compliance with the six point agenda of Governor Rauf Aregbesola to support the empowerment of communities and Local Government Authorities for sustainable development, increase access of poor people to improved social and natural resource, as well as infrastructure services.
While speaking, the Representative of the governor, the Special Adviser to Governor on Water Resources and Rural Development, Hon Babatunde Ibirogba said Osun has paid a total sum of N700 Million as counterpart fund for CSDP, adding that the prompt payment of the contribution has enabled the state to access over N2.6 Billion credit from the World Bank.
He urged the beneficiaries of the projects to continue paying taxes for the continuation of the good work.
Representatives of the communities, Samson Akinola, Abdulsemiu Ayanloye and Kayode Akande while speaking on the projects, commended the state government and the World Bank and promised that the projects would be effectively utilised.
They noted that the new transformers would enable them enjoy electricity, enhance their living conditions and improve their social-economic activities in the communities.
They commended the state Governor, for providing the transformers for them through the CSDP.
