Account holders in various banks in Osogbo, on Tuesday, besieged banks in apparent efforts to make withdrawals after a long break from the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
Our reporter who visited banks at Ogo-Oluwa, Oke-Fia area of Osogbo, observed long queues at First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust and Zenith banks both at the hall and ATM collection points.
Some customers expressed their frustrations over the queue being caused by network failures and the slow nature of most ATMs in dispensing cash
Customers at First Bank Plc, Oke-Fia queued from the bank entrance to the gate of the bank. Same was recorded at the bank’s ATM point.
Also, scores of people were at the front Skye Bank along Fakunle road trying to withdraw from the ATM stand point.
Surprising scene was spotted at Zenith bank, Along Ogo-Oluwa road, Osogbo when numbers of the bank customers were sitting down on the floor in front of the bank awaiting their turn at ATM.
Also, several cars were parked at the premises of Guaranty Trust Bank at Ogo-Oluwa and FCMB which is not far from each other.
Many customers at the banks said they were making withdrawals since all they have, have been exhausted during the festivity.
Meanwhile, few people were spotted at the Nelson Mandela Freedom park relaxation garden which indicated that business activities has commenced fully in the state.
