Cyberbullying: Police Summon CEO Of Yoruba Gidi Online TV For Exposing MFM Pastor

The Chief Executive Officer of Yoruba Gidi Online Television, Olakunle Fasugba, has been summoned by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) at its Annex in Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, over allegations of conspiracy, cyberbullying, serious threat to life, and forgery.

This invitation follows the controversial exposure of a former Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) pastor, Femi Jimoh, on Yoruba Gidi TV.

The invitation, signed by ACP Elvis Earmabeoku, requested Fasugba to appear before the O/C Team HX-Squad Section on November 29th, 2024.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Fasugba’s appearance was rescheduled to Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024.

According to the police, the meeting is aimed at clarifying issues linked to the ongoing investigation and advancing the course of justice.

Pastor Jimoh had stirred public discourse in May when he alleged during an interview on Yoruba Gidi TV that he was unjustly imprisoned for nine years without trial.

Jimoh, who claimed to be a former pastor at MFM, accused the church of orchestrating his ordeal. He recounted how he was allegedly beaten, shot in the leg, and detained after a dispute involving MFM’s Chief Security Officer at a native doctor’s house.

The explosive interview, which drew widespread attention, has since raised questions about the role of Yoruba Gidi TV in disseminating such allegations.

While Fasugba is being investigated, the police have stressed the importance of fairness, urging him to appear with legal representation if desired.
