Barely a week after a fire outbreak destroyed property worth millions of naira at Poplat Filling Station at Lagere area in Ile-Ife, Osun State, men of the Osun State Fire Service averted another disaster when a petrol tanker fell in the town, on Monday afternoon.
It was gathered that the petrol tanker fell at the middle of the road along Ilesa garage in the ancient town. The tanker driver was said to have lost balance and fell as a result of the bad road.
Osun Defender recalls that the fire Polat Filling Station on Tuesday, January 9, spread to other properties surrounding the station, including a student hostel, a shopping complex, and a commercial bank.
While no casualties were recorded, property worth millions of naira were destroyed, with some people sustaining varying degree of injuries.
