Dangote Regains Top Position On Forbes Africa’s Billionaire List

Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote has once again secured his status as the wealthiest individual in Africa, as reported by Forbes Real-Time Billionaires.

His recent resurgence comes after South African business magnate Johann Rupert temporarily held the position, marking a dynamic shift in the hierarchy of Africa’s richest individuals.

In a swift turn of events, Dangote’s reclaiming of the top spot highlights the competitive nature of wealth rankings among prominent figures in Africa. The recent exchange between him and Johann Rupert underscores the fluidity of economic standings and the constant flux within the continent’s billionaire landscape

According to the ranking as of January 8, Dangote’s net worth improved by $10 million to $10.1 billion while Rupert’s net worth as of January 8 was $10 billion, down from $10.7 billion as of January 30, 2023.

Dangote, the head of Dangote Group is ranked 191st on the Forbes list, while Rupert is ranked 197th worldwide.
