Arsene Wenger has rubbished the claims that Danny Welbeck leaving Arsenal this January.
Reports suggest representatives from the Turkish club Besiktas have flown to London for the English International in an effort to sigh the forward.
But Wenger is really certain Welbeck is not leaving. ‘I want Danny to stay here,’ said Wenger.
But having signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United with Alexis Sanchez gone in the other direction, Wenger isn’t ruling out further ins and outs.
The Gunners are trying to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund and Wenger added: ‘It depends on the opportunities we have. We can buy players. We are busy on all fronts, so overall I think we are open-minded.
‘Every opportunity we have to strengthen our squad, we’ll take. If people want to buy some of our players, we have [examined that] players who have less chances to play, we have done it, who deserve to play because they are great players, who have left us.
‘After that, we’ll see at the end. There’s still a lot that will happen as usual on the transfer market.’
