Nigerian singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has finally broken silence since the recent heated episode involving him and his colleague Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid.
Osun Defender recalls that on October 1, 2024, the long-standing rivalry between Nigerian music icons Wizkid and Davido flared up once again, igniting a firestorm of reactions across social media.
It all began in the late hours of October 1, 2024, when Wizkid took to the microblogging platform X with a subliminal tweet, “Beg me! just like …” After his post, it didn’t take much time for his fans and other X users to decipher that the post hinted at a viral video of Davido.
When an X user asked Wizkid, “So if you no beef @davido your song won’t sell ??,” he replied, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
Corroborating, Wizkid, in a series of tweets on Tuesday, mocked Governor Adeleke, fondly known as the ‘dancing governor,’ for his viral dance videos.
Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, is famous for his energetic dance moves, which he often showcases in public events and has endeared him to many Nigerians.
However, Wizkid seized the opportunity to ridicule both the governor and his nephew in the process.
“When you see people wey dem papa and family train you go know! You don’t see my uncle dancing online,” Wizkid tweeted in Pidgin English.

However, Davido has not directly spoken about the insults at him, but his recent post on Thursday evening seemingly addressed the issue.
In the new post, he urged people to remain true to their craft and be resilient in their journey.
He emphasized the importance of helping and supporting others as one progresses.
Sharing dazzling pictures of himself, Davido wrote: “Stay authentic to your craft, resilient on your journey, and lift others along with you. Be the Standout Swift.
