Davido Visits Aso Rock, Introduces APC Loyalists To Tinubu (Video)
Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, over the weekend.
The visit, which remains unofficial in purpose, saw Davido in the company of two prominent allies, artiste manager Ubi Franklin and nightlife promoter Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest.
Photographs and videos from the visit, shared by Ubi Franklin via Instagram, showed the trio exchanging pleasantries with the President, who appeared in high spirits as he received the guests.
In one of the clips, Davido was heard introducing his companions to Tinubu, saying, “They are both your members, sir. They are APC.” The President, smiling, nodded in acknowledgment before offering firm handshakes.
The interaction took a political tone when Ubi Franklin reminded Tinubu of his campaign efforts during the 2023 general elections. “I went to 15 states with you during the campaign, sir,” Franklin said.
Tinubu responded promptly, “Very good. We succeeded and made it to the presidency.”
Amid laughter and light-hearted banter, Cubana Chief Priest added, “We will succeed again in 2027.”
Though the reason for the visit remains undisclosed, it comes shortly after Davido was hosted by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
In a statement released by the Speaker’s media office, their discussion was described as “engaging and rich,” with a focus on music as a unifying force in national development.
Abbas lauded Davido for projecting Nigerian culture globally and empowering young people through his influence.
Davido, who has often distanced himself from partisan politics publicly, has family ties to the political class — most notably, his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the current Governor of Osun State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
