Barely a year after some West African countries heaved a sigh of relief from deadly Ebola virus outbreak that claimed many lives and drained affected countries of resources, another outbreak of the virus has been reported in the Republic of Congo by the World Health Organisation.
So far, three fatalities have been reported and were said to have contracted the virus in the northeast of the country. The country’s health ministry was reported to have notified the world health body after laboratory tests confirmed it.
Unlike in the past when vaccines for the virus were not ready, it was reported by some online media that over 300,000 doses of the vaccine were ready from different manufacturers in case of an outbreak.
