Delta Police PRO Says Nigerians’ Behaviour Hinders Police Progress
The Delta State Police Command‘s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has sparked a conversation about the relationship between Nigerians’ behaviour and the country’s policing system.
According to Edafe, the reason Nigerian police operatives are not as effective as their US counterparts is largely due to the behavior of Nigerians themselves.
Edafe took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his thoughts, emphasizing the need for collective effort to improve police-public relationships.

In his post, he wrote, “We all want the Nigeria Police to be like the US police, it’s good, and it’s very good to wish for the best. But do we behave and act like US citizens?”
He questioned whether Nigerians behave and act like US citizens, highlighting the interconnectedness between societal behavior and law enforcement. Edafe noted that the police are a reflection of society, and that changing the narrative requires a joint effort.
