THE State of Osun Command of the Nigeria Police Force has warned the louts parading themselves as ‘OmoOnile’ to desist from unleashing harassment on residents of the state or face dire consequences of their actions.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, the Police are ready to cut the wings of the louts who have so far been disturbing owners and workers of buildings at construction sites.

Opalola gave the warning on Wednesday in Osogbo, while speaking on a private radio station in Osogbo, Rave FM, on its popular’Frank Talk’ programme.

She said: “We are not unaware of the menace of ‘OmoOnile’ and we have put in place some strategies to nip in the bud their nefarious acts. We are ready to cut their wings, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wale Olokode, will not allow any tout to be terrorising the people of the state.

“I am using this medium to tell the OmoOnile that they should stop their activities. If anyone of them is caught, it is going to be disastrous for such person.”

Opalola appealed to members of the public to always inform the Police of the activities of the louts anytime and anywhere they are sighted in the state.

“Members of the public should not wait until they are overwhelmed by those thugs before they inform the Police. They should call the Police immediately they hear or see anybody claiming to be ‘OmoOnile’.

“The Police Command has already set some personnel in motion for that kind of cases. We want to arrest them. The general public should help us in arresting them”.
