Destiny Etiko Demands ₦100M From Queeneth Hilbert Over Defamation

Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko, has issued a pre-action legal notice to her colleague, Queeneth Hilbert, over allegations of defamation.

The controversy erupted after Queeneth accused Destiny of snatching the wealthy lovers of their colleagues in a now-deleted Instagram post.

In a letter dated 7th March 2025, Destiny, through her legal counsel, denied the allegations, describing them as a calculated attempt to tarnish her reputation and mislead the public.

The letter demanded that Queeneth retract all defamatory statements within 48 hours and issue a public apology.

It also stipulated that she must pay the sum of ₦100 million in damages for the alleged malicious publication. Failure to comply, the letter warned, would result in further legal action.

“We are solicitors to Destiny Etiko and write on her behalf. Our client is a respected actress, public figure, and social media personality with a large following,” the letter read in part.

The legal notice referenced Queeneth’s 6th March 2025 Instagram post, in which she allegedly claimed Destiny engages in relationships for material gain and manipulates people for personal benefit.

Queeneth also accused Destiny of inflating her earnings to deceive the public.

“Our client takes these allegations seriously and is concerned about the damage the publication has caused to her reputation,” the letter continued.

“She categorically denies these claims, which are aimed at maligning her character, causing emotional distress, and lowering her standing in the public eye.”

As part of the demands, Queeneth was instructed to cease and desist from making any further false statements about Destiny.

The legal team also insisted on a retraction of the defamatory statements, which must be published on the same platform where they were initially posted.

“Additionally, the sum of ₦100 million must be paid as damages for the malicious publication made against our client,” the notice added.
