“Don’t Trust The Adelekes, They’ll Dethrone You” – Engr Ayowole Warns Tinubu Over Recent Visit
A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Osun State, Engineer Busuyi Ayowole, has issued a strongly worded public video warning President Bola Tinubu to steer clear of the Adeleke political dynasty.
This is coming in the wake of a recent private meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, alongside his nephew, Afrobeats star David Adeleke (popularly known as Davido), and his brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke.
Ayowole, a U.S.-trained mechanical engineer and the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) flag-bearer during the 2022 gubernatorial election, alleged that the meeting was part of a calculated attempt by the Adeleke family to gain political leverage ahead of the 2026 Osun gubernatorial elections.
“President Tinubu, you may not know me, but your boys know me. We are still investigating the malicious news campaign that targeted me a day before the 2022 Osun election. It appears to be connected to your allies and the leadership of the PRP at the time.
“They’ve been sending their son, Davido, to meet you in Abuja and Lagos. Either they want you to use your grip on Wike to ease their PDP path in 2026, or they are seeking a green light to defect to the APC. Either way, they’ll outsmart you,” he began.
Ayowole also accused the Adeleke family of trying to manipulate national political alliances by leveraging their closeness to Tinubu.
He also claimed that they were either lobbying the President to influence the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through Minister Nyesom Wike or attempting to realign with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ayowole further argued that Dr. Deji Adeleke, Davido’s father, poses a greater political threat than many recognize.
He said, “Deji Adeleke has two PhDs from America. He knows politics more than you [Tinubu], even if he operates from the business world. He’s richer, smarter, and more strategic in the art of betrayal.”
Citing past political betrayals allegedly orchestrated by the Adeleke family, including their fallout with figures like Iyiola Omisore and the late Soji Adagunodo. Ayowole asserted that the family’s goal is to create a political empire in Osun State and beyond.
“They betrayed everyone who helped them rise. If you allow them into your inner circle, they’ll hijack Lagos, and eventually dethrone you in Nigerian politics.
“If you let the Adelekes into APC, Osun might turn into a one-party state. But we won’t allow that.
“If you want to last long and reign in politics, don’t listen to the Adelekes. They will dethrone you and render you powerless,” he concluded.
On national governance, Ayowole gave a mixed appraisal of Tinubu’s administration. “You’re trying, Mr. President, but Nigerians are hungry and angry. It’s not enough to try—we want to see results in people’s lives.”
