DOWNLOAD: CTC Of Court Of Appeal Ruling On Osun APC’s Request To Relist Dismissed Suit
The Akure division of the Court of Appeal on Thursday released the Certified True Copy (CTC) of its June 13, 2025 judgement on the request of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to relist a suit dismissed by the court on January 13, 2025.
The appeal, sought by the APC over a November 30, 2022 verdict of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, which granted the request of the Action Peoples Party (APP) to invalidate the October 15, 2022 local government election in Osun State won by the former.
In the lead judgement delivered by Justice Peter Obiorah, the court refused to relist the case, noting the APC had failed to diligently prosecute the matter at the stipulated time.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the receipt of the CTC resulted in a disagreement between members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), who made several interpretations to the content of the ruling.
While PDP members jubilated that the judgement validated the February 22, 2025 local government election, APC members noted that the court upheld its February 10, 2025 ruling which ‘reinstated’ its chairmen and councillors sacked by the lower court on November 25 and 30, 2022.
