In a shocking turn of events, the dreaded and notorious armed robber, Shina Rambo, who terrorised the country in the 1990s, has revealed that he is alive.
Osun Defender reports that Rambo, whose real name is Adekunle Lawal, was a household name in the Southwest Nigeria for carrying out daring heists, including bank robberies and kidnappings among other crimes. His brazen crimes earned him widespread fear and attention.
His robbery gang used sophisticated weapons and disguised intelligence gathering to execute their crimes. They often targeted banks, factories, and wealthy individuals.
Rambo was arrested and imprisoned in 1995 after several efforts by the police, but he escaped after spending a year in custody. He continued his criminal activities until his eventual recapture in 1997, where he was tried and sentenced to death by a firing squad. However, he was not executed publicly.

According to reports, Rambo died in prison in 2011 while serving his sentence at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Lagos State. The exact circumstances of his death are unclear, but it was reportedly due to natural causes.
To the dismay of many, Rambo made a terrific comeback when he declared that he is well alive and kicking.
He made the declaration during an interview on Fresh Fm Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Reminiscing on his escapades, the notorious robber who appeared to have restituted said, “The two cops I love most are Adedeji Adele and Tollgate, they really tried but all their efforts were futile.”
Asked how he managed to escape with so much publicity in the media regarding his capture, Rambo said, “With all the declaration and announcement that they have captured Shina Rambo, he has been incacerated, what i want to tell the people of Abeokuta and the world at large is that people should pray that their lives are not used to pay the debt of another person’s life. A lot of lives have been sacrificed as replacement for my life.
He continued, “If anyone did break and entry and he was captured, they will say Shina Rambo has been killed. If anyone does burglary and stealing and also caught, they will say Shina Rambo has been caught. If anyone did a morning show and was caught, they would say it was Shina Rambo and a lot like that.
“But because of the grace I have in the party I left then…. there are 901 political parties in the country, and I belong to all except half. I have the grace to transform into any tribe I want. I can transform into Albino and a tribal mark bearing person. This is because I embarked on a powerful fortification journey”.
Speaking further about himself, he said, “I am from Abeokuta but I wasn’t based here because my mother is not Yoruba. She’s from Benin. I lived in Benin for years before i crossed to Cotonou, I’ve not been in Nigeria.
Rambo, who cited a Biblical passage that old things have passed, declared that he was no longer into crimes but now a devout Christian who has won a lot of souls.
“All those spiritual powers are now in the past because all powers belong to Jesus. There was a programme I attended where more than 720 hoodlums and area boys gave their life to Jesus. They were like if i could submit my life to Jesus, they would too.”
