Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday re-arrested Olawale Bakare, co-convener of #RevolutionNow protest in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun.
Bakare was alongside a human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore arrested on August 4, 2019 when the latter staged a protest in Lagos anded.
Similarly, Olawale Bakare was also arrested in Osogbo and arraigned alongside Sowore.
Olawale on Wednesday with members of the Revolution Now converged at the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo to protest against what they described as bad governance, lack of infrastructure, extra judicial activities among others.
A yet to be identified member of the #RevolutionNow while addressing security agents and onlookers was abruptly arrested by the DSS while, Bakare and five others were also arrested, others fled the scene.
The protesters were billed to address journalists at the Osun NUJ Correspondents Chapel before the arrest.
