The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency in the state of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has urged residents to embrace peace and unity as Christians celebrate Easter.
The lawmaker made the call in a message to celebrate the 2022 Easter, the feast of the resurrection of Jesus Christ which signifies victory over death in Christendom.
According to him, “Let us remember to pray that the spirit of Easter; selflessness, forgiveness, the victory of good over evil prevail this season and beyond.”

The Assembly Deputy Chief Whip stated that Christians must pray and work for peace to reign as this is a major way in achieving a prosperous Nigeria.
” I ask you to continue to imbibe the spirit of peaceful co-existence, unity and love for one another which are the ideals and principles on which our dear state is founded.
“The commendable acts of residents in often rallying round each other in challenging moments, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences is an indication that the dreams of our founding fathers in creating the state of Osun as a center of unity has taken deep roots and is flourishing.
“Let us all preach love and oneness wherever we find ourselves. We cannot witness meaningful development without love, tolerance and lending help for everyone wherever we are.
“As we approach the governorship election in June, let us shun acts capable of truncating the peace of the state thereby slowing its development agenda,” the lawmaker noted.
