The Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye has charged Christians of Osun and Nigeria to explore the spiritual opportunity derived from Easter to pray for the peace of the States.
The Speaker in a statement by his Media scribe, Kunle Alabi while congratulating Christians of successfully going through the 40 day lenten period which climaxed with the celebration of Easter said the country shall overcome most of his challenges soonest.
According to Owoeye, with various challenges facing the country, Nigerians must use every available opportunity to seek the face of God for peace to reign,
He stated that what the country needs at this time are various intercessory prayers for God to continuously stabilise the country.
The Speaker charged Christians and people of other faith to supplicate to assist the country in critical areas of needs such as insecurity, hunger, unemployment, decayed infrastructure, corruption which had all held Nigeria down.
“I want to call on my good people of Osun and Nigeria to explore the spiritual opportunity of this period to continue to pray for peace to reign in our dear state and country.
“Nigerians are tired of mere promises, they want concrete actions. They want to see in practical terms that government is committed to fighting insecurity and restoring the country to its past glory.
“The season therefore offers us all the opportunity to pray for a new Nigeria where citizens are well secured and living life abundantly, a situation of new beginning for our country to regain her lost glory.
“Events of the past few years, particularly the spate of insecurity in the land, leave much to be desired. I want to call on Christians and every Nigerian to pray for leaders of the nation, because Easter celebration should be used to renew love for one another”, The Speaker emphasised.
