Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), made a public announcement last Sunday on the appointment of a new Commander for the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the military arm of the organization.

The IPOB Secretary, Emma Powerful, was hosted on Sunday as a guest at Channel Television on a programme known as Politics, confirmed the appointment of a new Commander and cleared out the name of ESN’s on the attacks at Governor Hope Uzodinma’s residence last Saturday.
Emma said, “ESN as a team was not responsible for the attack on Uzodinma’s house. We don’t operates in such manner, one of our aim is to pursue Fulani herdsmen from our region”.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the group launched and inagurated ESN in December 2020 with a specific aim to guard and protect the people of South East and South South regions (Biafrans), from terrorists and bandits trooping into the land from the Northern region.
Kanu described Ebubeagu, the new security outfits established by the Governors of the region as a replica of Amotekun in South West which ESN is doing already even more better.
Emma explained that the name of the new Commander will not be made public for now as their operations to ensure the safety of their region forests, land and the people which terrorists have converted into slaughter grounds continues.
