The All Progressives Congress, APC, Ebonyi state chapter, at the early hour of Monday, commenced a one million road-match along the major street of Abakaliki to celebrate the quick healing and peaceful return of President Muhammadu Buhari from medical trip in London.
The rally was guided peacefully by thousands of the Nigeria Police Force, Ebonyi state command to prevent any breakdown of laws and order by any unforeseen miscreants that may seize the opportunity to cause mayhem in the state.
The one-million road match witnessed the presence of most highly placed political holders in the state including, the former governor, Chief Martin Elechi, Senator Chris Nwankwo who represented Ebonyi North zone in the National Assembly, Hon. Tobias Okwuru who represented Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Others include; Hon. Peter Ogeali who also represented Ebonyi/ Ohaukwu federal constituency in the house of Representatives, Hon. Paul Okorie who was a governorship aspirant in the 2015 election, majority of commissioners who served in the immediate past administration of governor which are; Arch. Friday Nwaogha, Prince Chibueze Agbo.
Also, Hon. Edeze Austin, the governorship aspirant of APC in the last 2015 general election. Hon. Enyi C. Enyi who was the majority leader in the state house of Assembly and 60 percent of local chairmen and development centre coordinators who served under Elechi were all in attendance.
Also, in attendance were members of APC selected from the 13 local government areas of the state.
