Ebonyi Gov Suspends Fourth Commissioner Over Alleged Misconduct
Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has suspended another commissioner, Uchenna Igwe, over alleged gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
This brings it to a total of four commissioners that were recently suspended.
Governor Nwifuru disclosed this while briefing journalists at his office, New Government, Ochudo Centenary City in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Igwe, who was the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, was indefinitely suspended on Monday with immediate effect.

It was gathered that the commissioner failed in his duties to effectively carry out an assignment given to him by the Governor on issues concerning the payment of local government pension by a council chairman in the state.
Recall that Governor Nwifuru late last month indefinitely suspended commissioners for housing and urban development, water resources and three-month suspension for health over dereliction of duty and gross misconduct, adding that his administration is committed to delivering people’s charter of needs.
