Ede Poly Restricts Hawking Activities Over Alleged Selling Of Alcohol, Drugs To Students On Campus
The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, has restricted hawking activities and display of goods for sale to the approved Mini Market Premises.
This is contained in a statement on behalf of the management which was signed by Group Managing Director, Surv. Akinola T.G.
While giving reasons for the restriction, he said it has been discovered that some hawkers do sell alcoholic/drugs to students in the academic areas.
According to the statement, “This is to notify the entire Polytechnic community that all manners of hawking and display y of
goods for sale in the Polytechnic environment should be restricted to the approved Mini
Market premises.
“Meanwhile, it has been painfully discovered that some the hawkers go about with
alcoholic/drugs in their possession to be sold to students in the academic areas. This
development is an alibi for violence in the academic envirounent and should be stopped.
“To forestall proliferation of this ugly trend, any illegal business points on Campus should be moved to the Mini Market henceforth.”
