For the efforts of the Aregbesola administration at improving education in the state to yield positive results, teachers and students also need to see themselves as major stakeholders in the drive and be hard-working.
The Commissioner For Education, Mr Kola Omotunde-Young stated this during an inspection visit to some schools in the state.
The commissioner said teachers should buckle up and ensure effective teaching so that the standard of education in the state would improve.
Mr Young, while encouraging the use of the mother tongue in teaching some subjects for better understanding, charged teachers to develop the habit of taking care of their pupils as their own children.
The commissioner, who urged teachers to shun absenteeism and lateness, then charged school authorities to always maintain tidy environment noting that it will reflect in the overall behaviour of the students.
He then appealed to parents and guardians to provide for the academic needs of their children for teaching and learning to go on smoothly saying that they should buy them new school uniform as any child with shabby dress will no longer be allowed to stay in school.
