Nigerians have been implored to promote peaceful co-existence and unite to eradicate unnecessary killings through banditry, kidnapping and ritual engagements as taking of human life is against Allah’s order.
The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yoruba land, including Edo and Delta, Dr Khamis Olatunde-Badmus stated this in Osogbo in his message on the occasion of this year’s eid-ul-kabeer.
Dr Olatunde-Badmus said all Nigerians should endeavor to protect the sanctity of life as Allah has demonstrated in the Holy Quran by replacing prophet Ismaheel with a ram to be sacrificed by the father of faith, Prophet Ibrahim.
According to the business tycoon, this gesture goes to emphasise that the life of all human beings is cherished by Allah and must be protected by the government and the governed.
He said unnecessary taking of innocent lives invokes the anger of the Creator and causes disruption in the land.
In his words ” It is high time all Nigerians, the government and all stakeholders came together to address the issue of people being killed through banditry, kidnapping, ritualism and other wicked activities.”
The Asiwaju Musulumi said Muslims should not only use the occasion of eid-ul-kabeer for celebration but also see it as a time of sober reflection on ways to pray to Allah to make Nigeria a better nation.
He asked all Muslims to inculcate the lessons of faithfulness, fulfilmenti of pledges, humility, and absolute trust in Allah as obtainable from the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismaheel.
