Former Governor of the state of Osun and Minister-Designate, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has called on Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity or religion to seek continued prayers for the unity of the country.
Aregbesola in his Sallah Message drawing from the significance of Eid-El-Kabir identified as pivotal tools to nation building the acts of sacrifice, obedience and perseverance exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim in holding forth to Allah’s will and commandment.
The former Governor called on Muslims to use the season to step up fervent prayers for the continued unity of Nigeria expressing optimism that the myriad of challenges currently facing the nation will become a thing of the past in no distant time.
He stressed the need for Leaders at all levels and spheres of national life to be sensitive to the plight of the less privileged in the society and justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering to them the dividends of good governance.
Tasking citizens to also wake up to their responsibility at all times, Aregbesola reassured that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not relent in giving Nigerians a better deal for their support at all times.
The former Governor also charged religious leaders to encourage wealthy individuals to always help the needy while they preach on the essence of Nigerians embracing the collective unity of the nation for greater prosperity.
