Electrician Dies During Cable Reconnection In Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 45-year-old electrician who lost his life while attempting to reconnect electricity cables to a pole in the Shasha area of the state.
The incident, according to the police, occurred on Saturday, August 10, at about 11:30 a.m.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said the deceased was carrying out the reconnection when tragedy struck.
Hundeyin explained that when the case was reported, detectives were immediately deployed to the scene.
“The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at Shasha. When the case was reported, a team of police detectives visited the scene. He was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,” he said.
The police spokesman added that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was ongoing.
